Hello,
I got an HP TouchSmart 520 and the problem is that the sound doesn't work, the logo is crossed out in red and it says that no device is connected even though the sound is supposed to be built into this PC. I've been trying to solve the problem for hours, does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 80.0.3987.149

    Hello,

Try the site Touslesdrivers.com > My Drivers

    Download Mes_Drivers_3.0.4.exe and run it.

A page will open with green-highlighted drivers to download and install.

Once downloaded, is it normal that there are several things in the file?

    Yes, that's normal.

You need to extract the contents of the zip archives into a new folder before running them.

You should look for a setup.exe or just setup if you don’t have file extensions displayed in your folder options (View, Options, Visualize, etc...)

I'm sorry, but I'm not very good at computers at all. I don't understand what I need to do next once the download is finished.

Did you extract everything into a New folder?

I just downloaded it, and of course, there is no setup.exe.

    So try another way.

Right-click on This PC > Manage

    And go to Device Manager.

Normally, you should see the device in Sound, video and game controllers

With a yellow triangle and an exclamation mark,

Right-click on it, then Update Driver

Then browse my computer for driver software.

You choose your New folder where the files are located, and it should install.

The .cab file downloaded from Softpedia?

Did you extract it (its contents) with WinRAR or 7-Zip?

    In a folder?

Then did you follow the procedure as I described?

    Of course, the correct device?

If you have other devices without drivers, you could have made a mistake.

You click exactly in the order

    1. Extract to

    2. Desktop (in the tree structure)

    3. New folder

    4. OK

    Hello,

    Press Windows + R
    Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.

Do you have a section --> other devices?

What do you have under sound, video and game controllers?

Give the hardware ID number of the audio device
Check this --> Find a device's hardware ID number
Post the number in your next message.
