Hello,
For a while now, I haven't had any sound on my PC.
When trying to reinstall the latest IDT High Definition Codec driver, I get a message saying that it cannot install this driver because another associated device is not functioning properly, without mentioning which one. This is not very clear, I don't know what to look for as "another associated device."
Could someone help me with this problem?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello,
Start with a driver update using DriversCloud:
=> tutorial on how to update your drivers with DriversCloud
It would be good to provide the full model of the computer.

Hello,
Press Windows + R
Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.
Do you have an audio alert?
Is there a section --> other devices?
What do you have in audio, video and game controllers?
What is the brand and exact model number of the PC?

Good evening Kaneagle,
No alerts for the audio anywhere.
Other devices: I clicked around a bit including, nothing to report
I have this information under the concerned device:
The device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_7676&SUBSYS_103C2ADA&REV_1001\4&2cd90f1b&0&0001 requires that the installation be continued.
My PC is an HP Pavilion 29969353-F1B7-455B-8FAC-9C652328F8B6.
Thank you for your help.

Under audio, video, and game controllers, I still have AMD High Definition Audio Device... it is indicated that this device is working properly. There are no other lines.

If the driver in message 9 that Malekal gave you as a link doesn't work:
Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits
Download this one --> IDT
Right-click on the driver --> 20607428_.......
Select --> 7Zip
Choose --> extract to "20607428_.....\"
Go to Device Manager
Right-click on the device
Update driver
Browse my computer ......
Choose from a list of drivers...
Have disk
Browse
Go to the unzipped driver folder --> 20607428_.....
Select the file --> STWRT64.INF and OK.
Restart.

Thank you for your quick response.
Sorry, I forgot: I am on W10, 64-bit OS.
I will try updating the drivers.
See you!

I updated with DriversCloud and then I wanted to test a piece of music.
It's Windows Player that opens by default, I don't know why. I don't like this player. Mine must have disappeared, maybe during the famous Windows 10 update in September that caused a lot of problems.
So I reinstalled Daum PotPlayer (KM Player) that I've had forever, but I can't play the music. When I open a track, it tells me: "the DirectX Audio driver is not installed or not properly."
Brrrr, I will check the speaker connections again.
See you later.

Hello Malekal-morte, thanks for the tip. I know VLC well; it's excellent, but I prefer KM (currently DaumPotPlayer, same publisher) for its unmatched video quality in the free category.
The problem seems to be with my PC from what I can see.
After downloading and installing the missing drivers, it still says under devices IDT High Definition Audio Codec "no driver is installed." We can't revert to the old one either, the option is greyed out. We can only disable or uninstall the device. I'm hesitant about this option because the term "device" seems a bit strange for a driver, doesn't it?
What do you think?
