Same problem as last year, a black band of approximately 1cm that has turned gray and then black. The total screen came back in May and then the same black band appeared again in October, along with a slight gray band 1cm higher that fades when I warm the screen with my hand.... Furthermore, the screen responds normally under the black area... I just have to guess where to pivot the screen.... planned obsolescence? If you have a solution.... I'm open to it. Thank you!

It probably comes from the motherboard and I found a solution. I haven't tried the hair dryer, but if you heat your phone with an app that makes it hot, you'll see the black bar disappear. The only problem is that sometimes even with that it won't come off, but for me it works most of the time.

I have the same problem with my S7 where 2/3 of the screen is black, the touch function remains operational, and using a hairdryer allows me to get the full screen back for a few hours before it goes black again...
I wanted to remove the case to access the motherboard. The tutorials on the subject recommend heating the case to melt the glue holding it in place. So I left my S7 in the sun all afternoon at 35°C. Impossible to remove the case. However, for the past 10 days, the screen has been working fine. Right now, the temperatures in the south are favorable. I took the experiment a bit further and put my S7 in the fridge for an hour. The screen is still fully operational. If this can help some people.

Hello, I would say with 90% certainty that the capture is not a screen scan (since there isn't one) but a save of the signal sent to the screen. So if the capture is complete while the displayed image is not, I would also say with 90% certainty that the screen is faulty; otherwise, it’s the connection sending the signal to the screen that is at fault.
