Thunderbird is no longer fetching messages

Question

Hello,  For the past few days, the "Retrieve" command for new messages has not been working. I am no longer receiving the messages in my inbox at FREE. Thank you for your help. André

Hello,
the problem comes from the security of the FREE server,
you need to go to the settings of your Thunderbird email account
and temporarily disable the security control of the connection
SSL/TLS, that should work but be careful, there's no more email security.
FREE needs to review its obsolete SSL/TLS protocol for the new version of Thunderbird.

- Are the new messages to be retrieved present in the Free inbox?
- Is there a possible unauthorized redirection of messages to another address in the Free inbox?

Hello and thank you for the reply.

The configuration of the FREE server is correct (IMAP).
No error message appears when I launch the "Get Mail" command.
No response from Thunderbird when launching "Get Mail".
On the FREE server's website, the new messages are there and they remain!

Are the messages not in the Junk? Try in safe mode Menu? -> Restart, disabled modules

Hello,

I'm following up on the topic because since yesterday, I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with my Free emails.
The retrieval works perfectly for my other email accounts but not for Free.
When I initiate the "retrieval" in the bottom left, I see the different accounts being retrieved, but my two Free accounts do not show up.
In the account settings, everything seems normal.

Have you managed to resolve your issue and how?

Hello salva,  Everything is normal in the account settings. But if you don't show them to us, we can't verify them! POP or IMAP?  Be aware that there is a compatibility issue between TB 78 and POP FREE, which uses an older version of security standards. No, sorry! Disabling Free's security is not a solution. You just need to configure Thunderbird to accept the older security standards, as explained in the post just above, since it is possible to do so.

The problem is that I have indeed only used SSL/TLS 1.0 as indicated (versions 1.1 to 1.3 removed), but in my case, it doesn't work!!!

antivirus update, firewall config, validating active application,
confirmation of Security.tls.version.enable-deprecated set to TRUE,
valid SSL/TLS and finally it works!!!
