Thunderbird (Mozilla) - have your emails permanently in the cloud?

Hello
I would like to know if there is a way to store my emails in the Cloud???
I use Mozilla THUNDERBIRD (MT) for my email
I have installed and use MT on my office PC and on my laptop
After receiving emails, I organize them into "LOCAL FOLDERS" that I have created. The problem is that I have to redo this operation on the other PC to have the same classification of my emails at all times
Isn't there a way to have MT (and its local folders) in the cloud so that I can perform/modify/view my email and the classifications made just once????
Thank you

Hello ctaup,

I would be cautious about the setup you’re requesting because anything on the web, cloud, or elsewhere is hackable and volatile!
By leaving all your emails and especially your Profiles folder on there, you are taking big risks of potentially losing everything one day or another.

Here are two more secure organizational solutions to consider:

1- Consider one of the PCs as the master PC on which you save and organize your emails and make backups of the Profiles folder to ensure its longevity. The other PC (or phone/tablet) would be merely ancillary, using Thunderbird without organization or using webmail.
On the master PC, set the account to POP so that the received messages cannot suffer adverse effects due to interference from message deletions on the web and back up the Thunderbird "Profiles" folder to another medium.

2- Set up both PCs with IMAP (thus with folder synchronization on the server) and subscribe to the different classification folders via "select account / subscribe" for this protocol. This way, both PCs will be synchronized, and all folders will be present on both PCs and on the web for each account.

Risk: With this solution, all messages being present on the servers at the ISPs, they are hackable, could be deleted by someone with ill intentions/human error or technical issues, and if that happens, due to synchronization, they would also be deleted from all PCs using IMAP. Take care with your backups!

Basic rule: The less you leave messages on the web, the greater the security.
