By fumbling for long hours, I found a solution to update the software of my television that I had never connected. It is a rather old model from 2010, LG SMART LIVE+ TV. MODEL 47LB671V8ZB. WEBOS TV version 13.03216 which will become WEBOS TV14.2532 after the updates. It was a bit tedious but it's done.
The thing is, these updates do not concern the built-in browser, which still does not allow watching videos online, for example by going to the parliamentary channel's website.
All the applications offered in the LG store work very well: Arte TV, YouTube, RT France, Netflix, etc.
If this can be helpful, here is, "step by step", how to proceed in three phases
Get your LG TV remote and magic TV remote, and make sure you are connected to the internet via cable with the RJ45 plug that connects to the back of the television.
First Phase
- Press the blue smart button located in the middle of the LG TV remote
- Click on LG store then premium with the "magic" remote
- Click on "install Netflix", a software update for the television will then be proposed before installing Netflix.
- Accept this update. It takes time, at least 4 hours, probably less if you have fiber optic. Furthermore, you have no indication that the update is in progress.
Therefore, to know that the download of the update is complete, you will need to occasionally attempt to install Netflix. As long as it indicates that you have to wait for the end of the update, it means you still have to be patient. Etc...
When the update is downloaded, turn off the television and then turn it back on for the update to install.
Second Phase
At this stage, it is not yet finished. You will notice that you still cannot install Netflix.
On the LG TV remote, press the "setting" button located at the top of this remote.
Then, in the proposed menu that appears, click on "general", then on "about this television".
Check the automatic update option
As suggested in this menu, also launch the "search for update" option,
At first, you will get "update not found", wait, insist, then it will indicate a proposed update. Confirm and wait for the download to finish. This time, an update progress bar is visible.
When the download is finished, turn off the television and then turn it back on for this update to install.
Third and final phase:
Press the "setting" button again at the top of this remote. The updates have changed the presentation and you will see color points on the right side of the screen.
Click on the gray circle with three white dots aligned vertically located at the bottom of the screen.
Then, in the proposed menu that appears, click on "general", then on "about this television".
Check if a third update was triggered with the automatic update option. If so, wait for the download to finish, turn off the television and turn it back on... installation of this last update.
There you go, it's done. By clicking on smart, you can go to the LG store and install all the applications you want.
How is the TV connected to the internet?
IF via Wi-Fi, try connecting it via Ethernet cable and see if the update can be performed under these conditions.
There's nothing to be done, it's deliberate...
We can't do anything.
So, I installed the app on my phone and I'm doing a screen share...
I inform you that your browser is a limited version, and it does not allow for replay viewing or even updates.
I encourage you to use a Chromecast or any other devices, such as a set-top box, that allow viewing an external source on your television.
I hope I’ve helped you and I'm at your disposal,

My TV is only a year old! It's shameful on LG's part.
