Hello,
I just bought a second-hand home theater system, elyxio php 160 c, but I can't get surround sound and other features. I connected it via the headphone jack of my TV (one of the solutions suggested here), but the sound is only coming from the left and right front speakers, and it's really not great. Can someone help me find the right connections to get the proper sound? What types of cables should I use and what should I connect? My TV is a Samsung model UE32EH6030WXZF.
Thanks to those who can help.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 70.0

Hello,
A headphone output can only provide stereo sound.
The solution likely involves using the optical output of the television and a digital to 5.1 RCA converter (assuming the TV broadcasts in 5.1)
Example https://www.amazon.fr/5-1-Audio-D%C3%A9codeur-Convertisseur-num%C3%A9rique-analogique/dp/B00NAJ4W2A
This converter will be connected to the TV with an optical cable and its outputs connected via RCA cables to the 5.1 inputs of your home cinema.
Note: a conversation to activate the optical output of the television is to be expected. Check in its sound or audio menu.
For your information, the manual for this home cinema is accessible here

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it’s not there...
