Hello,
is there a trick to turn off the speaker when someone leaves a message on the answering machine (Gigaset AS405A)?
This poses a big privacy issue.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hello
The manual states on page 7:
When listening to the messages from the answering machine, you can activate or deactivate the "Hands-Free" mode by pressing the "Hands-Free" button.

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Thank you for your response.
But I am often busy and unable to go turn off the hands-free.
Is it possible to disable it permanently?
Thank you.

You just need to press the "answer" button on the handset right after starting to listen to the message.

to disable it permanently
for that, you must not use the "Call Filtering" function.

Thank you very much. I have disabled "call filtering" and it's working. Best regards, Alain.
