Speaker issue

Hello,
I bought a landline phone for my grandmother: Alcatel Senior XL 585 Landline Phone.
She doesn't hear very well, so she is used to using the speakerphone.
This model has one.
Here’s a photo of the model:

I should mention that I bought it in a physical store, from a large retailer, and that it is a new product. I have the manual, I read it entirely and I didn’t find any answers to my problem.
I have identified the speakerphone button that needs to be pressed during a call (ear symbol, between the M1 and M2 buttons).
I’ve done tests and the speakerphone never activated ...
However, there is indeed a blue LED that lights up at the top right of the handset when I press this button during a call. And this blue LED goes off when I press the same button again.
This is not a volume issue, I have set the volume to 5/5 during the call. It’s just a problem related to the speakerphone function, which is inconvenient for an elderly person.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Thank you.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
The button that activates the speaker is not the one with the ear symbol, located between the M1 and M2 buttons.
That button is the "Audio-Boost" button (Marker 7, image below) which increases the volume by 10 decibels in the handset.
The button to activate the speaker (Hands-free mode) is the "Pick Up" button (Marker 9, image below).
A speaker is actually printed on this button.
