Hello,
I have about 73 untitled Numbers files that I've been unable to do anything with for a few weeks now. I can't rename, delete, move, or even open them. They show a storage size, but they actually take up no space.
When I try to delete them, a window pops up saying "alias not found" or "delete alias," and when I click on it, nothing happens. I believe this is due to a mistake I made when I created an alias and deleted it right away. From that point on, these documents appeared.
I would like to know if there is a way to permanently delete them or unlock them. I need to transfer this Mac to a new one, and I don't want to carry this problem with me.
I have tried to delete them using commands in the terminal, but nothing works. Please help me; I'm losing hope and can't find a solution on the internet...!
Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 11.1.2

Hello,
I presume that all these files are in the same folder...
- So, in this folder, choose a list view.
- Ask to sort it by date
- Select the oldest one, and also the most recent one
- Ask to "Get Info" via the cmd i shortcut or the File / Get Info menu
- Expand all sections of the information windows
- Take a screenshot of the information for each of these 2 files
- Post these 2 screenshots in this discussion

- Please give us information regarding the version of the Mac system in use on this Mac... what OS?
Best regards.

Hello,
I presume that these files don't actually exist on the Mac. It must be a display bug due to a poorly purged cache.
"All files" no longer exist in current OS versions. However, there is "Recent"...
But in the "All files" window, you have the option to request the access path from the Display menu. You will then see the access path for the selected file at the bottom of the window... So what does it say for these files?
It may well be, as I mentioned earlier, that these files do not exist, and that the issue can simply be resolved by deleting caches with Onyx - Note: take the version suitable for El Capitan:
https://www.titanium-software.fr/fr/onyx.html
Then perform a repair after booting from the recovery partition:

These files are not listed in a folder to my knowledge; they only appear in "All Files".
My Mac is a MacBook Air from 2015 running OS X El Capitan.
When checking the information in Sharing and Permissions, I do not have known access.
It would be a Numbers spreadsheet.
I cannot lock or unlock it.
I have no other information.
When I click on it, it says the alias cannot be found, and when I try to delete it, nothing happens, or when I choose to repair it, I get error code -43.
