Launching Age of Empires on Windows 10?

Hello

I want to install Age of Empires 2 on my PC running Windows 10 Home. The installation goes smoothly without any particular issues, the shortcut icon appears on my desktop, but when I click on it to launch the game? Nothing happens, no error message, and of course, the game doesn’t launch either...
Thanks in advance for your advice :-)

Hello fellow Age of Empires fan.

You can launch the game with backward compatibility.

To do this, you can right-click on the game icon and then select Properties.

In the compatibility menu, you can select the Windows XP version.

Best regards.

Thank you for your advice, but I still have the same problem...
When launching the compatibility resolution, it shows me that the program is compatible with Windows XP (Service Pack 3) which I select and apply, but nothing works.... I wonder if there might be a connection with the PPP settings?
I'll continue my investigation, but if you have any other options, I'm all ears.
Strength and resilience Tomsuper!

Re,
Right-click on the game's tab and open Properties. In the Shortcut tab, in the Target entry, you should see something like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age2_x1\age2_x1.exe"

You need to add at the end of the quotes NoStartup Msync NOSC Mfill 800 so that it looks like Target:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age2_x1\age2_x1.exe" NoStartup Msync NOSC Mfill 800

Note that if what is inside the quotes does not exactly match what I indicated above, leave it as is and only add the final text indicated.
