Hello,

I updated Windows 10 yesterday and since then, I can't open .exe files.

I get the NSIS ERROR every time although I had no issues before. Any solutions, please?

    Hello,

    What update?
    Is it all the exes?

To check your computer for any infections and get an overall status of the system:

Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. ( take the time to read carefully - everything is well explained ).

Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish, a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.

Three FRST reports will be generated:
    • FRST.txt
    • Shortcut.
    • Additional.txt

Send these 3 reports to the site https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and in return, provide the 3 pjjoint links that lead to the reports here in a new response so that we can review them.

(The blue links lead to step-by-step explanatory tutorials, click on them for more precise instructions to follow).

I'm not the type to "call" on external software, especially since it's probably not necessary..

I think I know the update that broke everything, but I can't uninstall it. Any other ideas?

      The update in question:

      - Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - October 2019 (KB890830)

    Hello,

    1- Download RstAssociations
    Select → All
    Action → Restore
    Restart the PC.

    2- Antivirus.
If you are using Windows Defender:
    - Disable → App and file control
    Explanation here

To a lesser extent, Windows Defender has added → Exploit protection
It's not advised to disable this protection, you can try a temporary test.

With another antivirus besides Windows Defender, make sure to check and allow the firewall.

    3- Update
    - Uninstall KB890830, it will be replaced next month.

    - With version W 1903, KB4517389 has a lot of bugs.
The bad streak continues for Windows updates.
Microsoft → a solution will be published by the end of October
    Patch pending.

    - Wait for version 1909 expected around November 12.

4- Uninstall if you have protection software like Malwarebytes or VPN

5- NSIS Error: many software no longer install.
Check the procedures in this guide
    - Clear your browser cache.
    - Clear the Windows TEMP directory.
