Hello, I received an Arnova 8bG2 tablet as a gift, and I can't turn it on. I charged it, and at the end of the charge, it blinks red and green. I press the power button, but nothing happens, and I've tried both methods: 15 seconds on the same button as well as reset, and it remains off. What should I do?

Hello,
It should be 8-G2 and not 8bG2..?? I suppose its battery is more than dead and also this tablet is equipped with a very old version of Android... So I assume it's a gift that has been sitting on the shelves for a long time; without being charged... And now, it doesn't have enough power to start; especially since the lights are clearly in alarm.

What to do...?? good question... A repairman isn't worth it, might as well buy another one.. Or open it to change the battery, or at least put another one in to check if it works with a different battery... Otherwise, it's not worth it...
Here's my summary of the situation... if you feel capable of such an intervention..?? or not..?? or maybe a handyman friend with skilled fingers... -
Hello Jeannets
I just had the same problem.
The last resort I had was to open the tablet, unsolder the battery wires, completely discharge the battery, and then resolder the wires, and the tablet started working again.
I hope this helps you.

The most SIOUX thing would be to have another charged lithium battery, with a short length of wire, and solder it in parallel to the original... Then plug in the charger overnight. It charges both and balances them... around 4 volts.
-- Then you restart your tablet normally; if all goes well, great... If not, you start it in "Recovery" mode (volume + Power button) but in the menu, go to "Boot Normal" to start it and not on Recovery, so you don't lose everything.
-- In this case, the USB port is not implicated since we're directly soldered to the battery...
-- For the next step, of course, you need to turn off the tablet, unsolder the auxiliary battery, and make sure that the main battery is around 4 volts... Indeed, check the wobbly USB port, unsoldered, bad contact, etc. Change it if necessary... reassemble the tablet and start it...
-- You must not let the battery discharge that much anymore; let's say at 10% you need to recharge it... and watch out for the charging display which is often obscured by full-screen games.
