Good evening, this is my first time posting here, I'm desperate because I've searched everywhere and haven't found a solution. Every time I try to install the Epic Games launcher, I get a window that displays this error message:

"Unable to write the value to the key
Software\Classes\com.epicgames.launcher\shell\open\command. Please check that you have the necessary permissions for this key or contact your technical support team.

I have Windows 7. I've tried everything, please help me. Thank you.

Hello

I’ve tested everything, please help me

What do you mean?

Because right now it indicates that you do not have admin rights to install. So you need to check that these rights are active on your account.

Best regards

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried to repair, cleaned the computer, etc.
I normally have administrator rights, I install several things but it doesn't work with Epic Games.
Just in case, how can I check?

In that case, try uninstalling in safe mode if possible. Otherwise, contact support.

Hello,
Typically, a simple right-click on the executable and selecting "Run as administrator" should do the trick.

When I right-click on Epicinstaller, I don't have the option "Run as administrator." I have this option for everything else except that.

Well, it's possible that you're not on an account with admin rights. So it makes sense that you don't have permission to modify the registry.

A test: Shift + right click

I have this displayed, but I don’t use a password, so I just typed the username, and it didn't work.
