CGV EtimoSTL2 decoder stuck (stays on but no longer works)

Hello, my TNT decoder CGV Etimo STL2 hasn't turned off since last night (green light on) but no channel appears. The power button doesn't work. The remote control doesn't work either (I changed the batteries to check).
I have unplugged it several times, nothing works. I unplugged all the cables and then reconnected them. Nothing. I unplugged it all night. No better.
No power surge in the last 24 hours.
The green light comes back on, but no channel. It's stuck in "on dead" mode. No way to reset it since nothing works.
Planned obsolescence? Or is there a way to repair it?

Hello,

If your device is connected to your TV via an HDMI cable, please press the HDMI RES button several times with a few seconds between each press.

I saw on another forum that, for a similar problem with another model, they simply told them to buy a new one... Hence my comment about planned obsolescence.

Hello,

I had exactly the same issue with my CGV decoder; it was stuck on the green LED and I couldn’t do anything with the remote control.

I concluded that it was indeed useless due to programmed obsolescence. By taking it apart, I noticed that a capacitor was swollen (16v 1000 Micro Farhad).

I replaced it and everything went back to normal; my decoder is working again. I hope this helps some people solve this problem.

Cost of the repair: €0.30. It’s always worth a try rather than buying a new one...
