Good evening, I have a problem on my desktop; the names of my icons are written on a black background. How can I remove that? Thank you for your responses.

    Control Panel

    ok, I understand

Go to the 'My Computer' icon, right-click and choose Properties
, then go to the 'Advanced' tab,
in the 'Performance' section press the 'Settings' button,
choose the 'Visual Effects' tab and then select the 'Custom settings' radio button
check 'Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop' in the list and finally apply and there you go.. keep me posted.

Hi, okay your solution might work, but how to access the owner and everything else if we can't see the writing?

    Good evening,
I have the same issue as in the previous posts, all the icons on my desktop are on a black background, but I have tried the methods suggested above and none of them seem to work, the icons remain on this black background. I can obviously change the color of this background, but I'm not interested in that; I would like to have the same appearance as before, the transparency, you know...

It would be great if you could help me, thanks in advance!

right click on This PC - properties - advanced tab - Performance - click on settings - visual effects tab in the list uncheck Use background image for each type of folder There you go, it's as simple as that, hi Mox

Why is the text above certain icons blue? Before it was black, now it is written in black and blue above the icons.

    Thank you, Fernand

Re, thank you for your input but this doesn't change the background color of the writing. I would like there to be no background for the writing, do you see what I mean? Thanks in advance.

      Hi!
Apparently, I have the same problem as you, did you manage to solve it? I can't navigate at all, everything is black except the icons, right-clicking becomes impossible, but other than that the computer seems to be running normally, so if I can avoid reformatting that would be great! If you found a solution and the problem is the same, please respond, it's quite urgent! Thanks in advance!

Solution found for the equivalent problem found here: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-1755304-icones-de-bureau-sur-un-fond-bleu-degoutant

    Citation:
active desktop should not be enabled
right-click on an empty space on the desktop > properties click on the desktop tab > click at the bottom on desktop customization and then on the web tab and if you have check marks in the boxes present, remove them all and click okay
