Hello,
What are the icons displayed on the screen?
Identify the ones that are flashing

Thank you. The battery charge level is perfect. It's the word SEARCH that is flashing.

Is this antenna-shaped icon present or not?
Blinking or not?

No no; nothing but the battery icon and the word that is flashing.

No antenna icon???
Curious, there is no radio connection between the base and the handset... but it should be blinking...

The base does have a connector to connect it to a telephone line, right?
Normally there should be a button on the base, is that the case?

Yesterday I saw this antenna flashing but today, nothing!
Yes, the base is connected to my live box.
There is indeed a button on the base: I pressed it for a while as I had read somewhere. Nothing happens. Thank you for your patience!

A short press should make the handset ring, but for that the radio link between the base and the handset needs to be functioning.
A long press is to subscribe (request pairing) with the handset.

So this is the procedure we are going to try to carry out;
See the manual on page 23 (25 of the pdf below) paragraph
5.7.6 Subscribe an additional handset

The manual: https://download.p4c.philips.com/files/c/cd4402s_24/cd4402s_24_dfu_fra.pdf

I tried the procedure (which I had already tried yesterday). The "antenna" icon has appeared and is flashing.

Ouch... it didn't work... the handset couldn't connect to the base.
Did you choose the right base?
Did you press the base button long enough (a beep should be heard)?
Please try the procedure again...

I went through the procedure again, I changed the power cable of the base... No beeping. The screen displays "in progress" and then goes back to "SEARCH". Is it hopeless?
The device that was previously connected worked fine. I changed it because this one has more functions.

The base is the one that is sick...
What device did you have before?
It is possible to subscribe to the Philips handset with the base of the old phone...
I'm not sure it will provide all the features of the Philips handset because I don't know which one controls the functions (base or handset), but it's worth a shot...
The subscription procedure is the same except that you need to press on the base of the old phone at the end.

Then the Philips base will only serve as a charger.

Not possible to put the other base: the handset does not fit.
I believe that with your help I have tried everything... What a shame!
But.....big THANK YOU!

I didn't say to put the handset on the other base, but to associate it with this one.
The old base serves as a base ensuring the radio connection with the Philips handset.
The Philips base only serves as a charger... it's a bit like the Philips is an additional handset for the old base.

Oh dear! It's getting complicated for me! I'm thinking it over, processing it all, and I'll update you tomorrow...

It’s simple.
You connect your old base to the box and power it on.
You follow the procedure on the Philips handset as described on page 23.
This continues until step 5 where you need to enter the PIN code (0000)
but instead of performing step 6
Press the button on the base for 3 seconds until you hear a beep. on the Philips base, you do the same on your old base, which also has the same button.

Glad I could bring this device back to life and avoid expenses.
