Issue with finding and using a SAV file

Hello,
A while ago, I downloaded Pokémon Fire Red version U 1.1 on my phone as well as the GBA emulator to play it.
I made a mistake while organizing the files on my phone and deleted a file titled Pokémon (I didn't have time to see the file type).
However, I still found a SAV file. Nevertheless, when I open the emulator, the saved game doesn’t appear anymore. I tried to locate it, but I can't access it from the emulator. I placed the file in the emulator’s "save" folder, but it didn’t work. I also tried the other subfolders "autostate," "state," "download," and "cheat," but without success. Do you know if there’s a chance to recover the game?
What should I do?
Hoping someone can help me...
Thank you very much.

Hello, you deleted the game but not the save file.
You need to recover the game ROM (it’s usually a .gba file, or .zip if it's in a compressed file) and put it back in its place.
Depending on the emulator, it may work differently, but in general, here’s what you need to do once you have the game and the save file:
- Place the save file where you found it, and put the game ROM in the same location.
- Rename the game ROM so that the file has exactly the same name as the save file, without changing the file type (so do not alter the .gba or .zip).
Then try launching the game to see if the save works.

Thank you very much for your response. That works. Thank you so much!
