2 well-defined sessions

Hello.

I am desperately trying to create two distinct sessions on Windows 10.

Coming from the Mac universe, I'm a bit lost. Let me explain: we each have one PC and I would like each of us to access our own desktop with our own settings and with the same rights (to create, delete, install our favorite programs in our own sessions), in short, two well-isolated and independent sessions.

Thank you very much for all your help.

Hello

It's a bit contradictory "we each have one PC" because for me that makes 2 PCs, doesn't it?

Otherwise, Windows 10 and users is on CCM HERE.

Note that for the installation of programs, some software will ask if it should be installed only on the local account or for all users. Others won't.

Best regards

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, and of course, I had already read this article before posting on the forum. I meant to say that we share one PC for the whole family, but you understood that well.

I’m looking for a way for my wife and me to both be administrators without being able to access each other’s files. Each of us should have our own session with our files without being able to access the other's documents.

I find your response quite abrupt, probably because I’m not used to forums. This is my first time posting, and I have very limited experience with Windows 10. Thank you nonetheless for the time you have given me.

Hello,

you just need to create the 2 accounts and add them to the administrators group.
Each administrator will then have to go into their own session and remove the "administrators" group from the users who have access to the "personal" folders.
To do this, you need to go to the folder in question, right-click - properties and security.

Thank you very much for your response and your help. I feel like I'm making a little progress. I've followed your advice.
Now, when one of the "administrator" users tries to access a folder from which I've removed permissions, I get "YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THIS FOLDER"

But the dialog box then says: click continue to permanently access this folder" and access is granted anyway.... :(

This situation is complex!!

At the same time, your request is not very common.
But be careful not to go too far with the permissions, or you'll ruin everything.
Otherwise, there is another method that doesn't require messing with permissions but is a bit cumbersome on a daily basis: zipping your folders with a password.
That way, only you can open them, but you have to zip and unzip them every time... it's very cumbersome.
