PC can't decide between Analog or HDMI.

Hello,
I have a problem with my brand new PC that I bought on Amazon, if you want to know. When I plug in the power supply and the HDMI cable and turn on my screen, my PC doesn't know whether to choose HDMI or Analog. I can't access the menus. I can't test the VGA because my graphics card is too new; it's an RX 570 8GB. So I've never been able to test my PC... thank you for getting back to me.

    Hi,

    Your question isn't very clear...

Is your computer unable to choose between HDMI and analog? It's not the computer that chooses a source, but the screen.

The computer outputs via HDMI if the HDMI cable is properly connected to the graphics card...

Well, my HDMI cable is connected to my graphics card, but when I turn on my monitor, it goes to Analog for 2 seconds and then I get a black screen, then HDMI, etc. My monitor works and my PC does too... the graphics card is running.

Well, it's the screen, not the PC.

So, when it's on HDMI, do you have a picture or not?

If you don't have a picture, then there's an issue on the PC side... if you're sure your screen works with something else.

My screen works on my Xbox and I tested it on another screen, it still doesn't work. I tried with other HDMI cables but it doesn't work.

Which model of RX570 do you have again, specifically?

You should try using one of the other ports on the graphics card to make sure it's not defective...

      What brand is your PC?

Otherwise, you'll need to check with the seller for a return...

Very unlikely that there is only one HDMI port on an RTX570, even in the OEM version.

Please tell us the make and model of your PC, as well as the make and model of your monitor.

All I know about my PC is that it has a Ryzen 5 2600, an A320, an RX570 8GB Gygabyte, and it costs 599.99 euros, and my monitor is a Samsung S24D330H 24 inches.

Indeed, most RX570 Gigabyte only have one HDMI port. However, next to the port, there are 3 DP + 1 DVI-D.

And will it work if I take a DVI? Or a DP?

We don't know. Therefore, we should check that with a DP or DVI cable, connected to a compatible device, it works.

This would allow us to determine that the HDMI port is indeed the faulty one. Otherwise, there’s still the option of contacting the seller and utilizing your warranty...

    Hello,
are you sure it's the PC and not the monitor? Who checks the connections?
