Hello,
I just reconnected my old turntable to an amplifier.

    Hello.

    >>> I just reconnected my old turntable <<<

How does this turntable work? Directly to the 230 V mains or on an external transformer?

The brand and model of this turntable would be a plus. And since we're at it, the brand and model of the amplifier in case it might be useful later.

    See you . . .

I bought a transformer (power transformer) that I connected; there was no outlet, it's a patina JVC AL E300. I bought an amplifier Kenwood with phono output KR V5090. Thank you for your help. Nathalie

    Hello,
If I’m not mistaken the deck runs on 12V DC...

If plugged in upside down... it spins upside down

We can have a photo of the back of the turntable, of the transformer used, of the connections made, and also of the nameplate of the said transformer. Note: if the motor of the turntable is not at risk, the pre-amplification electronics circuits may not have appreciated this polarity reversal.
