At home, I have to shrink the window size to 90% to see the dates. How can a site that makes as much money as YouTube have such a mediocre layout that's more suited to a small independent site?

If it's not visible directly under the video, you probably need to click on the small arrow to make the video description appear.

You can't know the recording date of a video. Only the upload date is available.
