Hello,
I have an ASUS laptop.
For the past 2 days, I've been occasionally encountering a freeze on a BIOS screen during startup with the following message:
"check system power error please plug in ac adapter"
When I restart, I generally no longer see the message.
Can you please help me?

well, I just solved the problem
When this message appears, you need to plug in the power cord, and then you can click OK
the update takes place, and then there will be some reboot steps; and everything works!

I just spoke to a technician: it seems that Asus has reached an agreement with Microsoft and they came up with the idea of automatically making Asus BIOS updates through Microsoft's Windows Update.
Information to be confirmed.
This also raises the question of how people with an Asus running a Linux operating system are handling this.
According to the technician, several people have come to him with their computers regarding this issue.
If this is confirmed, Asus and Microsoft need to realize that their, um, "idea" is causing some problems and propose a major update.
In the meantime, he suggests disabling Windows automatic updates and not selecting the Asus BIOS updates.
There you go.

Hello,
I have the same problem since this morning with the original charger of my Asus.
When the screen comes on at startup, I can do absolutely nothing and I have to force my PC
to shut down.
When I turn it back on, I no longer have the issue... It's one time out of two.
The computer asks me to restart it to finish configuring "System Firmware," and if I
restart it, the message comes back...

Hello,
For your information, I called ASUS support.
You need to hold the power button for 20-30 seconds.
It works for me, the charging is happening again.

Hello, I just received the same message!!! Computer restarted with ctrl alt delete!!!
What do we do if the problem comes back as I've read???

Same problem for about a week now, when I turn on my computer, it instantly shuts off only to turn itself back on until today when I received this message that everyone sees.
Maybe this can help avoid a forced shutdown for some: WordPad does not respond when the error message pops up (so you cannot click on ok or exit), you have to use the mouse to exit the error message, thus avoiding forced shutdown.

Hello, I have the same problem since yesterday as well
Seeing that I'm not the only one is already a bit more reassuring
But how can I fix this problem?
Is it the charger or is it a question of an update from Asus that's causing the issue?

So I probably messed up big time, but I downloaded the new BIOS system
I just plugged in an Asus mouse on the PC of the said brand and I did the update..
The real question now is whether my PC is going to die or not (basically)
It's a bit of an abuse from these brands to do anything for the money...

I have exactly the same issue for the past two days, I think. At one point it turned itself off and then restarted, and now every time I turn it on I get this message...
I was scared since it's a new PC and I don't know much about computers, but apparently, I'm not the only one...

Hello, I had the same problem as you several times. I restarted the computer and today a different page appears. I first thought it was a virus, so I forced the shutdown while it was loading, and now my computer won't turn on at all. It's 1 year old, only used for school, and I no longer have the receipt.
Hello Shimrhod,
This message means that the computer does not recognize your power supply (charger or power adapter).
If you are using the original one, it may be defective; otherwise, sometimes when using a universal charger, the message may also appear, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the laptop isn't charging.
Often, it’s just that they recommend buying the charger from them ;)

Thank you PratiquePC, but I do have the original charger (it can of course be defective, but given the other responses below, I doubt it).

Good evening, I almost have no battery left (10%) and it hasn't been charging since today. What should I do?
J'ai ce même problème depuis 2 jours. Je n'ai recherché cette information que aujourd'hui puisque j'utilise rarement cet ordinateur. Une idée de où nous pouvons faire un rapport officiel ?
Personally, I started by plugging in the charger. Then I clicked on ok, then exit and finally yes. After my PC restarted and I was on the desktop, I restarted it again, and then the update was done and there you go!
No need to understand anything about computers!!
