I had signed up on Facebook with my first and last name, and I just went on Facebook and to my astonishment, I am no longer using my first and last name but I have the name of a man called BOUVIER with his photo. What should I do? I don't understand anything!!

Thank you. I went to your link and a message in English appears that translates to French: "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can. Go Back." So I can't do anything. Is there anything else to do? In fact, on Facebook, my email was linked with my name and surname without a photo, and now it is associated with Pierre Bouvier (email: ***@gmail.com) with a photo of a man who, on the evening of my problem, was speaking in instant message (not with me) but the text was showing on my screen. He claimed to be hospitalized in Montreal in a clinic and asked for money, that he had cancer, etc. Moreover, yesterday, I received a message in my inbox from: ***@ymail.ca, a message that tells me, among other things, in a very long text that he hacked my operating system, that it's useless to change my password because he has control over my account, that he saw that I went on pleasure sites and that I don't want the photos to be sent to my family, my friends… I have to pay him $325 for his silence. He tells me "you're a big pervert, you have an unbridled fantasy." He thinks he's writing to a man, whereas I am a lady far from going on weird sites on the internet. I am really very troubled. I will try again to follow the link you gave me, but you may have another idea to contact Facebook. How can unscrupulous people enter a simple account like mine? Please tell me what to do now. The email you received is completely fake. It is just a scam that plays on fear to obtain ransom. Ignore it and delete the email. You can see another example of this type of scam in this thread.

Hello, this time it went through and they asked me for proof of my identity and have suspended my account, stating that they would contact me by email. I will keep you updated on what happens next. In the meantime, thank you for your help. I am feeling unsettled.

I come back to clarify that in fact, they wrote that my account has been disabled for violating the declaration of rights and responsibilities in effect on Facebook. I am not to blame since a certain Pierre Bouvier took my Facebook account. I don't understand anything at all anymore.

They may have deactivated my account simply because it was hacked by this Pierre Bouvier, since he was the one who committed the offense by accessing my account. However, I am well secured. I pay particular attention to it.
