DVD Player and Projector

Hello,

I have a video projector and I would like to connect a small-sized DVD player to it to avoid a cumbersome setup with a larger device (which would also require running a cable across the living room for each installation).
I am therefore looking into external players. My question is the following: can they be connected directly to the video projector, or do they require specific software and thus a connection to a computer?

Hello, a home DVD player will do the job just fine
however, the sound from a projector is never very good or very powerful, an audio output from the DVD to an amplifier and speakers would be perfect

Thank you for your response. However, I am really looking for a portable DVD player because not having a fixed setup for our video projector means we have to take the time to set everything up before each use. The idea is to be able to connect a small device that wouldn't require a power outlet. So my question is whether an external burner can work on its own or if it requires software and therefore a connection to a computer.

As for the sound, it is indeed of very average quality but we will make do with it for now.

Hello, a DVD player with HDMI or composite output will need a mains power supply.
