My mouse cursor works but doesn't open files.

Hello everyone,

I have an HP laptop and for the past few days, my mouse has been acting up.
Indeed, the cursor moves normally, but when I try to click on a file, a folder, or even go online, nothing opens. The right-click only works on the taskbar.
How can I fix this?

Thank you in advance for your replies,
Camille

    Hello,

If it works normally with the PC's pad, it's the mouse that has a problem. Change the batteries and clean the optical sensor as well...

    Best regards.

      Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me!
Actually, the pad is not working; I then plugged in a mouse, which is also not working...

      Thank you :)

You have 2 options for installing the drivers:

Either from the HP website, but it's a bit tedious: https://support.hp.com/en-us/drivers

Or by using the Iobit Driver Free program (easier): https://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php

During the installation of this program, choose Custom Installation and uncheck the additional program proposed, which is Dashlane. Then, follow the prompts, click on Scan, and install all the drivers that need to be updated.
