Hello,
I don't understand what's going on. I bought a video game, but my drive can't read it. When I insert it, the computer makes noise as usual, it searches, etc., but in the end nothing shows up and nothing is detected by my drive. I tried with a DVD of a movie and the same problem.
Finally, I tried with several audio CDs and there was no problem, everything works perfectly: CD detected, music plays, etc.
I have an ASUS N53SV. My drivers are correctly installed...
Thank you for your potential help. This really discourages me from buying games!!
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 22.0.1229.94

Problem solved. Daemon Tools is evil... I went into Device Manager, displayed hidden folders, and disabled the sptd in Non-Plug and Play Drivers (in drivers -> type disabled) and restarted. If this can help someone.

Hello,
I followed your procedure but there is no SPTD in non-plug and play drivers.
Can you help me?
Thank you.

Hello, I had the same problem and I just solved it: in the device manager under the tab regarding the CD/DVD drive, I had two disabled drivers:
- DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device
- MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8A0ASW
I reactivated them and my drive can now see the discs again!
Hoping to help some of you
