Hello, I just acquired a Bluetooth 4.0 adapter and I was wondering if it is recognized under Debian.

Hello,

Bluetooth being supported on Linux, it's likely to work. The only way to know for sure is to test it :-) Once your adapter is connected, check if it appears with the command 
hciconfig
.
