Asus SDRW-08D2S-U optical drive drivers impossible to find? Solved

Question

Hello,  I just contacted Asus technical support because I can't find the drivers for my DVD/RW drive that no longer works...! There is a driver, but it's only for the E-Green application. While waiting for a response from Asus (which is likely to be long!...), I am submitting the request I sent.  Hello,  My drive worked normally except for the playback of single-sided DVDs where there were occasional freezes, especially during slow playback or image/image. . Yesterday, it stopped working and no longer appeared in Explorer. It seemed to load the DVD or a software but there was no Windows recognition, which indicated a driver problem (attached screenshots). I was surprised not to find an update for this device in your downloads!?!  Thank you in advance for your assistance. Best regards    Do you have any idea on how to load this mysterious driver? Hello, this is a generic driver from Windows and not from Asus. Try updating the driver or uninstalling it; it will reinstall itself automatically upon restart.  Right-click on the “Start” button or press Windows + X and select “Device Manager”. Locate the device for which you want to uninstall the driver, right-click on it and select “Uninstall”. (WARNING do not proceed if you want the driver to reinstall automatically) Check the option “Delete the driver for this device” and click OK. Windows will then uninstall the device and remove the driver downloaded from Windows Update. Hello, Maybe remove the Upper and Lower filters? Download this -->> Removal Filters.inf <<-- and place it on the desktop. Right-click on the file Choose --> Install Restart the PC. -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

Thank you kaneagle, but I like to understand what I’m doing! And I don’t understand at all the manipulation you’re suggesting? What is this "Filter.inf" and how can it interact with my optical drive?...  On another note, there’s new information: This same device works on my laptop which has the same OS (W10 64Bits) so I deduce that I have a system problem on my desktop PC!....  -- AirLibre - Culture is like jam:                the less you have, the more you spread it...(May 1968)

For code 39, look --> here You need to delete the Upper and Lower filters  Either you do it yourself by going into the registry or Download the file Right-click on Suppression Filters.inf Install Restart the PC.  By running the Suppression Filters.inf file, this would avoid having to intervene in the registry.   -- The human being is at their best when things are at their worst.
