Question marks instead of accented characters in my outgoing Yahoo emails

Hello,
I have been using Thunderbird for years without any issues to write/retrieve my Yahoo.fr emails.
For the past 3 days, all my outgoing emails show ?? instead of all special characters. This is only visible when my emails are received (they display correctly in my "Sent" folder).
The display of received emails is correct; I see the accented characters.
Emails sent directly to Yahoo are correct.
Of course, I checked that incoming and outgoing emails are encoded in Unicode UTF-8.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird while keeping my profile: still the same.
I installed Thunderbird on another PC without using my profile: still the same!
I created a new user with a Gmail address that I hardly use: there it works!!!
So there's no problem using Google Mail, but when using Yahoo Mail, my outgoing emails have special characters replaced by ??.
Does anyone have any idea?
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 73.0.3683.103

mail.strictly_mime to true

I was also in the same unbelievable situation.
Namely, these special characters no longer appeared in the messages (replaced by ??) and right from the sending (meaning they were also incorrect in the sent folder).
But it depended on the recipient!
I looked for a solution without success.
Until this solution proposed by dubcek - it works - Thank you!!! -

I also use Thunderbird for my Yahoo emails. On my PC, it resolved the issue.
But when I write my emails on my smartphone with the Aquamail app, my correspondents also receive ??? instead of special characters. However, I don't see how to apply the solution that works on my PC in the Aquamail settings...

Thank you, I also searched for months. It is finally resolved. The issue came from Yahoo and not from Thunderbird.
