DIM 14/4/2019-Hello, to the entire CCM team,
DIM April 14, 2019- Hello everyone,
      • my equipment ***

Bbox SAGEMCOM MIAMI Fast 5330b-r1
TV decoder: ARCADIAN HMB4213H
B00
« Our » equipment was working well until now, but since the purchase of a HOMCOM A90-167 treadmill, whenever the TV is on, as soon as our treadmill starts running, the image on the TV freezes, and the sound is stuck until the treadmill is turned off.
It is worth noting that the phone stops working as well for 30 seconds to 1 minute. After that, while the treadmill is still running, the TV and everything else comes back on.
Regarding the message, 5 seconds after the image freezes and the sound is stuck, the following appears on the TV screen:
- Message F3411-
« Oops, I can’t receive the channel anymore…. Please check the connections…
During the disruption,
The Tel light on the Bbox turns red and @ remains white but blinks.

For your information, the treadmill has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections and is not plugged into the same 220 V outlet.
The "group" TV Bbox, TV decoder, and phone are plugged into a power strip, surge protector (with grounding), which is itself plugged into a single wall socket 220 V + ground.

Any ideas and especially solutions would be very welcome, of course.
You’re welcome to reply, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Alane.

Hello,
This rug must emit disturbances, try to move it

Andy31200,
Concerning possible disturbances, if that's the case, would you, if you were in my position, absolutely refrain from any new purchase of electrical appliances (coffee maker, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, and the list could be long) so as not to "disturb" the TV, BBox landline in your apartment?
It is worth noting that this is the first time this has happened to me in about twenty years of being connected?
This is rather unusual, isn't it?
Finally, for your information, I had to contact Bouygues customer service five times, and on the first four occasions, they "fixed" the issue remotely at my request, a fix that only worked for a few hours, then it was back to square one (hence my follow-ups). The fifth time they admitted that my bandwidth capacity (the Bbox in use) was 57 MB while I was only receiving ... 5 Mb.
This proves two things:
1- The ISP can increase the bandwidth coming into my Box remotely
2- This improvement is only temporary since the mentioned ISP turns down the distributed power a little later.
Therefore, this opens up other possibilities; is there a way for me, from my computer, to change some settings in my router that could either filter the received signal or increase the bandwidth available?
Andy, perhaps this is not really your thing, so any nice idea from knowledgeable people is welcome.
Thanks to those who read me and... See you soon.

Alan.

Hello

You just need to connect your box and your player with an Ethernet cable. And that's it ????.

Good evening,

This question dates back to 2019!

Hello, you need to have the electrical installation checked by a professional; there are some signs that the ground connection is not compliant.

Hello again,
and I hope you're having a good Sunday while thanking you for looking into my problem. I also thought about the grounding, but living in an apartment makes it difficult for me to have anything checked. However, since the Bbox is connected to France Telecom, a technician from there came to check the wiring on the telephone network and indicated the wall sockets we should prioritize connecting to, which we did, but so far nothing has changed. If, however, the (or the) ground connections were defective, we would have induced currents coming back into our fingers, we would be .... The first to know, what do you think, not to mention that other devices would not function properly?

See you soon, Alan.

it's not simple, one thing is for sure, with a multimeter set to AC, no voltage should be read between the neutral and the ground.

Cro_Mignon Good evening,
and thank you for the advice, but by the way....... How do you visually distinguish between the phase and neutral?
For the ground, there's obviously no problem!
Thank you and have a good evening.

Hello
maybe by swapping the phase and neutral on the wall socket where the treadmill is plugged in

Hi Yclick, and thanks for the ground neutral inversion tip. Since the treadmill is under warranty, would using the inversion on an extension cord work?
Thanks again and see you soon.

As for the person who wrote to me that starting the treadmill should lower the power supply of the box, I would like to point out that my treadmill is not a steel treadmill... from a supermarket, nor a winch from a towing truck or a tow truck (24V motor, if I’m not mistaken!)
-So in that case, the lights in the living room would dim as soon as we start our treadmill... which is not the case.
Another consequence, if this operation were to draw too much current, it would trip the circuit breaker, but that is not the case, and again Bouygues was able to resolve the problem remotely, so it is

what I would like to know.....

Even temporarily, by what process did they manage to do it, whereas at first glance, like you who replied to me, I thought it was a problem of lack of current (or intensity)?

Could someone tell me how they manage to intervene remotely on the configuration of my router (B.Box), and so that the current consumption no longer affects the functioning of my B.Box (or the TV decoder) when a minute before it crashed?

Who has the answer??

See you soon and thank you Alan.

the problem with the Linky meter; if you exceed the power of your subscription, the meter only delivers the subscribed power
so check the power of your subscription and if necessary, request to switch to a higher power
furthermore
in your posts, you never talk about the power of your carpet at startup
normally it's indicated on the device's compliance certificate

I admit the limit of my knowledge in electricity, but from what I remember, between neutral and phase the current changes direction 50 times per second, so according to you, what could this inversion of wires cause?
Alan.

Hello
Since the neutral is connected to the ground on the electricity supplier's side, there could be an internal component in the mat causing a slight current leak in relation to its ground connection, generating a stray current.
If I remember correctly, this was the case with some older modems.
There's nothing stopping you from testing it.

The issue is that the newly purchased rug is under warranty, so it cannot be disassembled. In any case, it’s Wednesday night, and when the TV is working, if I turn on the rug, the image and sound freeze for 30 seconds and then everything goes back to normal, which would suggest that Bouygues Telecom is indeed the one responsible for this problem!
What do you think?

Alan.

It may be common for the carpet motor to cause a drop in the power supply voltage to the box.

Yclick, good evening, with a 3-wire cable (including ground) I will be making an extension cord with the neutral and phase reversed, but to avoid having to dismantle the treadmill (under warranty), do you know the "Normal" positioning of neutral and phase on a "standard" socket?
Thank you and see you soon.

Hello

Just in case!!! Do you happen to have a Linky meter???

Dany 311 good evening,
Indeed, we had Linky meters installed in the building a few months ago, but why are you asking this question?
Best regards,

And what is the power of your subscription???
( it's indicated on your bill )

For us, minimum power, but what does that have to do with the original question?

For us minimum power; that is to say ???

I understand what you mean, but if I follow you, I shouldn't have a TV, box, or phone whenever my wife is ironing or doing laundry, and I won't even mention the dryer. However, when everything is working at the same time (except for the treadmill, of course!), we haven't had any issues with the TV or box. Additionally, our electrical panel is set up "the old-fashioned way" with ceramic fuses from 10 to 16 Amps (except for 32 A for the oven, of course, and to reassure you, according to the good formula
P=UI, a 16 Amp fuse can thus accept without burning out ...3520 Watts (in the case of 10Amp (bulbs, etc...2200 Watts)
For your information, the A-class dryer with a capacity of 5 Kg consumes 2750 W per cycle, while the treadmill only consumes 360 Amps at startup... It's like in X-Files, the problem is... Elsewhere!

we still don't know the power of your subscription!!!
and it seems that you confuse consumption over a given time (1h30 for 1 wash and about 1h00 for drying) with consumption at startup (that of the treadmill)
let's assume you have a 3 KW subscription - the minimum - (essentially an instantaneous consumption of 6600 watts)
with household appliances (appliances, and then lighting, computer devices), you quickly reach this consumption and the threshold is reached (even though Linky allows for a slight excess up to 7000 watts), when you start your treadmill which must have a power of 1500 watts, you greatly exceed your subscription and Linky cuts off.

I don't know where you saw that a calculation is only by exceeding and that the nice Linky, according to your analysis, is actually useless.

dany311 Posted messages 13266 Registration date   Status Contributeur Last intervention   2 131 > nardass

I simply say that with the old meters, we could easily exceed the consumption of the subscribed plan without EDF realizing it.
With Linky, that's over; if consumption exceeds the subscribed plan, Linky automatically regulates
which forces consumers to switch to a higher plan.

I am happy to see that a character is aware that the Linky meter is just a way to switch to a higher subscription.

Good evening everyone, I realize that since no one really has the solution to my problem, I will have to close this post. To conclude one last time, someone I think was right to mention motor leakage currents. However, no one has explained to me how to act on the configuration of the box, like Bouygues does ... remotely.
Otherwise, I thank you all for looking into my issue in one way or another and kudos to CCM. for allowing us to exist.
Problem solved....!
