I have a big problem with Messenger. I can't connect. Let me explain:
I signed up for Messenger on my iPhone 7 without having a Facebook account. My Messenger account is linked to my Instagram account.
I just bought an iPhone XS and installed the app, but I can't connect. I try with my phone number but it doesn't work (I think I didn't create my account using my number) and I can't find my username or password to do "forgot password" - I don't understand... I'm still logged into my account on iPhone 7, can someone help me? Would it be possible to log in via Instagram? If so, how? Thank you for your help.. (this is my first time posting on a forum, I'm really at my wit's end after a week of attempts????)

My number on Instagram has been set up for a long time. The issue is Messenger for the login...
