Hello,

I tried to format my MacBook Pro 2015 and I attempted to reinstall the system, but I encounter this problem with every attempt.. can anyone help please?

Error "An error occurred while preparing the installation. Please try running this application again."

    I suggest you check the date on your Mac.
    When you are in macOS Utilities, open the menu "Utilities -> Terminal":

    A Terminal window will open.
    Then type the command

    date

    and validate the command with the Enter key ( ↩︎ )
    If the date does not match today, then you need to set the correct date.
    Here is the syntax for the "date" command:

    date mmddHHMMyyyy

    with:
    - mm: the month (01, 02, ..., 12)
    - dd: the day (01, 02, ..., 31)
    - HH: the hour (00, ..., 23)
    - MM: the minutes (00, 01, ..., 59)
    - yyyy: the year (2016, ...)

    Example:
    Today is December 11, 2016, and it is 09:47, so you need to type this:

    date 012911472016

    (the segment 1147 corresponds to the time, remember to adjust based on when you read this message ;) )

    then validate with the Enter key ( ↩︎ )

    Now quit the Terminal and restart the Mac OS X installation.

    The charger must be connected because if your Mac shuts down due to battery depletion during installation, you'll be in for some serious trouble.

      Thank you for your response, but I've already tried that and it always leads to the same problem (I'm not sure if the seconds need to be exact during the modification). The charger is also plugged in. Do you have any other solutions?

      There shouldn't be any seconds to enter normally.

      How do you install the OS? With a CD? A USB drive?
      Is it the right version of the OS? Have you changed any components of the PC?

      I installed it from the internet, without a CD or anything else. I didn't touch the components, I just erased the disk. The version is MacOS Sierra, which it detected automatically (MacBook 2015).

      Is this the version that was installed before or is it a new one?

      And I see that the topic is marked as resolved; if it's not the case, I invite you to change it back to "unresolved" to get help from other contributors ;)

      I had mistakenly put "resolved", the previous system was Mojave, but during the reinstallation it suggests MacOS Sierra.
