Phone alarm plus connected

Solved

Hello,

Hello,

Hello,

Is your help possible or is it not within your competence?

The fiber has been installed at my home for a few weeks now, and therefore my Atlantic'Ateos alarm is no longer connected to my fixed ADSL landline which no longer exists. I have activated the GSM transmitter. My mobile number is still stored, but in test mode I do not receive an alert on it.

Did I miss something? How to fix this issue and how to know if the SIM card is still active?

Thank you in advance for your response, hoping that you can help! Best regards

    Hello,

How was your alarm connected before the arrival of fiber? Directly to a wall telephone jack or to the back of your Livebox (ADSL) as indicated on page 11 of the manual? Normally there is nothing stopping you from connecting it to the TEL jack at the back of your fiber box.

Regarding the GSM function, the antenna is properly connected (see page 11) and then see pages 34 and following.

    The manual: https://www.manualslib.fr/download/383361/Atlantic-S-Ateos.html

    1. Hello,

      GSM ....

for me that means mobile telephony 2G, you must check that the transmitter in question is not on 2G, because at Orange, and (it does not exist at Free), 3G will follow within 2 years, it's better to have modems directly in 4G/LTE today.

And there you have it, there you go, there it is ....

But alas, how painful the line spacing is !!

        Hello,

It is indeed quite possible that the GSM issue is related to 2G, which is phasing out.

Only the requester can inform us... in case of a GSM2G module, we will have to forget transmission over this channel or invest in a newer alarm system.

    2. Hello Baladur13,

Thank you for giving me the right information!!

I could have thought of it! but with age the brain slows down!

I think the problem will be resolved on Sunday with the visit of a family professional!

Thanks again!! Very cordially Mamy Colette

      1. In order to keep the brain functioning and prepare a more effective Sunday intervention,

was the telephone line used for telephony in addition to the alarm?

If so, I assume there was number porting to the box and the telephone connected to it.

So we would first need to plan for in order to connect BOTH the telephone AND the alarm to the box; you can find them in any DIY store, even supermarkets.

@brupalaAccording to the excerpt from page 11 of the manual provided in message #1, you can directly connect the box output to the alarm control panel and then connect the telephone to it as well.

Ah yes indeed, I hadn't looked at the details, a bit like on faxes back in the day.

or, with a different technology (Ethernet switch), IP phones where you can connect the PC to the IP phone in order to have a single Ethernet port for the workstation.

    3. Hello,

Thank you again for your attention!

Connecting to the box must be the best solution! Have a great day everyone! Regards

The lack of alerting via mobile phone means that in the event of a power outage, the box becomes inactive, and no one will be warned if the alarm is triggered.
