Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out because I'm at rock bottom. I've been having an issue for the past few hours; when I right-click on my desktop to bring up the context menu, there's an incredibly long delay, and I can't use my desktop icons until the context menu appears (which can easily take a minute! And that's if it actually shows up!).

I really don't understand why this is happening, because everything else works perfectly well; right-clicking on my desktop icons or on my files and other things works just fine!

However, I did a reset of my PC earlier in the evening (which wasn't planned for this problem), but after this issue, I did another reset with no changes unfortunately.

Does anyone have any suggestions to offer? I've searched through almost all the forums I could find but to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Disable all context menus with Autoruns.
Follow this tutorial for that: https://www.malekal.com/plantage-explorer-exe-clic-droit/
and see if it makes any difference.

Great, thank you very much, it was an Nvidia software that was causing the problem, but it's a program that is installed by default on the machine during the first startup, strange that it crashes Explorer like that.
Anyway, it works now, THANK YOU.
