Service error 5700

I have a Canon iP3000 printer that displays an error message "service error 5700" and the power light blinks orange 5 times!!!! The printer manual indicates that this is due to a defective print head or a bad connection with the printer. The print head is not defective, and I checked the printer/head connection – everything is fine!!!!
Moreover, if I turn off the printer and leave it for a while, it prints 2 or 3 pages and then the same message appears, so the head works and the head position is fine, but there is something else. Can you help me please?
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0

Hello everyone, I don't have a solution for error 5700 but I found the manual to reset the mentioned Canon printer
unfortunately, it is in English:

Okay this procedure definitely works!

1) Start with the power off

2) Hold down the ON/OFF button plus the RESUME button at the same time.

3) Keep your fingers on both buttons and THEN let go of the resume button.

4) Then press the resume button twice

5) And then let go of the OFF/ON button (which you have been holding down while pressing the resume button twice).

6) Then, first press and release the resume button 4 times

7) And then the power button 2 times after this.

The printer should now be okay and the lights will return to normal (solid green only).

The error may be due to a defect or overheating of the print head.

suggests cleaning the print head as follows:

Remove the head, then soak it for 30 minutes in warm distilled water. Then dry it by shaking it vigorously and using paper towels.

I tried it. It works.

If not, write here to ask them the question, it will be easier.

You told me to check in the manual if there is a reset procedure, but it doesn't exist; on the contrary, Canon's interest is to perform the reset themselves and not to give it to just anyone!!!

My printer is not under warranty, and I use compatible ink cartridges and refill them myself.

Exactly the same problem, 5 blinking lights and service error 5700. The ink flows properly on both printheads that I have and the cartridges are new and original.
