Hello Gentlemen,

I am reaching out to you for your expertise to help me solve the following problem.

When I open the EBP software, an error message appears:

"Unable to retrieve user language,
the XML file is corrupted - Root element
missing".

Hoping you can assist me.

Thank you in advance.

I had the same problem with EBP Bâtiment.
Corrupted XML file. 0x000 is not a hexadecimal value. Something like that. The HostOptions file is the cause of the problem and the software stops.
To resolve the issue, you need to have at least one backup (complete, usually in zip format).
First, you need to note the full address of the XML file in the error message, e.g., c:user\programfiles.......
Make sure to write that down
Go to the Search menu (or open a folder, My Documents, for example, and go to "search")
    Search for HostOptions
In the search results, you should see the current corrupted file (if it hasn't been deleted)
And other HostOptions files that belong to each backup, click and open them with Notepad (or Notepad++) Notepad can be found on all Windows computers.
Once opened, do not type anything. Do not change anything.
After opening, go to the File menu/Save As
In the folder, you need to choose the address of the corrupted file so it will be replaced with the new file. If you can't find it, then choose a folder you know, e.g., My Documents
    Enter the document title HostOptions.xml
The line (below the file name) is the file type and should be All types
If you have chosen the original address of the file, it will ask you if you want to replace the file. Click yes and it's done.
If you chose a different folder, then you need to open the folder where the corrupted file is saved.
Copy the new file and paste it into that folder, replacing the old file.
To ensure you can always return, before starting any procedure, find the corrupted file, copy it, and paste it into a folder created just for that, just in case you need the original file.
    For any
