Unable to open file with Foxit Reader

Hello,

as indicated in the title, I have the excellent program Foxit Reader that I have been using for a very long time now.

I want to specify that the PC I am using is still on Vista.

However, lately, I can no longer use it. When I try to open any pdf file, a window appears with the following message:

"FoxitReader.exe - Entry point not found"
"The procedure entry point TryAcquireSRWLockExclusive could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

I have completely uninstalled the program and all its registry keys. I reinstalled the program, without success.
I went through "associate a file type..." without success.

When I try to open the program, the message mentioned above appears and then another one saying that Foxit Reader has crashed.

Thank you for your help or advice.

Best regards.

Hello FoxitFixit

Here is the latest version of Foxit Reader
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/bureautique/10297-foxit-pdf-reader/

However, if your problem persists, try using Adobe Acrobat Reader (free and excellent) like I did

Good luck

Hello and happy new year. I have exactly the same problem at home and Foxit Reader is up to date with the latest version. Has anyone found a solution?

Adobe Acrobat has not worked on Vista for several years now.

I had the same problem (see above). The only solution I found was to install an older version of Foxit, specifically version 9.2, which seems to be the last version compatible with Vista. It is available here https://foxit-reader.soft32.fr/telechargement-gratuit/?nc&dm=3

Remember to disable automatic updates!

Of course, I'm still open if someone has a better solution...
