Hello everyone,

Here's the problem I have with Foxit Reader, a PDF viewer (like Adobe Reader, but lighter and faster): for some files, it shows me the following error, apparently related to the graphics card or the Windows driver of the graphics card:
 FOXIT READER caused a general protection fault in module 3DFX16V3.DRV at 0008:00000258. Registers: EAX=0000c014 CS=03a7 EIP=00000258 EFLGS=00000246 EBX=009f300a SS=21b7 ESP=0000bf3e EBP=0000bf58 ECX=00000004 DS=21b7 ESI=0000c014 FS=1b9f EDX=000121b7 ES=0000 EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: f3 66 a5 1f 8b d8 8e c2 66 26 8b 47 14 c4 5e 0c Stack state: f65a0437 0001c014 c0260776 000a4d1b 1e1607f4 0000f65a bf720000 039f1fcd c0141388 000021b7 04370000 fbbef65a ef380000 0458bf90 0000040f c0140000

Here are my specifications:
Computer: Packard Bell, Multimedia 6500
RAM: 256 MB
Graphics/Video Controller (non-AGP): 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000
Hard Drive: 10 GB
Operating Systems: Windows 98 SE - Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS

The 3dfx driver is up to date and I use Foxit Reader because it's lighter and faster than Adobe Reader.

What can I do to resolve this issue? I should note that this doesn't happen for all PDFs (maybe the more complex ones?).
Thank you.

Hello

FoxitReader has trouble with "large" PDFs like plans for example.
Maybe your problem comes from there ;-)

Well no, precisely, these PDFs are not large. I rather have the impression that it's due to the complex layout... or not (if you navigate with your hand by moving the mouse up and down, it often crashes even if it doesn't crash upon opening).

So there might be mismanagement of the graphics card.
What do you think? The drivers are up to date, after all.

I don't think foxIT is the source of the problem.
It smells a bit like a buggy graphics card driver.

3DFX16V3.DRV is indeed the graphics card driver.

Try updating your card driver.
