Hello,

I just moved into a place where there is no phone jack. I want to plug in my bbox and I need your help with the connections.

The only socket available is an RJ11/RJ45 socket. I have added two photos of the socket so you can see.

I have also included a photo of the phone/ADSL cable coming out of the wall.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
I don't quite understand:
is the DTI connected to the phone line or not?
Which side is the disconnected cable you're showing?
Can't you try to find out from the owner why it was disconnected?
If it's the incoming line and the DTI is not connected,
you need to connect the gray/white pair to the 2 holes of the first contact on the left in the second photo, by cutting the two stripped ends to insert the 2 wires with their insulation (self-stripping contacts).
Then, in theory, you should run another cable to another RJ45 socket from one of the two CADs on the right in the second photo.
But you can also use the test socket, to avoid investing too much in repairs for the installation if you're a tenant, that's a part the owner is responsible for.
