Hello
For the past few days, I've been receiving rather insulting and personal texts, and the sender's number is hidden. After a little research online, I found out how to send a text without showing a number, which is to type "*clir# " before the message text. I've tried it, and indeed no number appears. My question is, is there a solution to find the sender?

Hello Cali,
Indeed, if you have a 10-digit phone number, it could greatly help you.
You have the option to find the person sending this type of message for example: https://www.ctqui.com/
But I have never found a service like ctqui.com for free.
However!!! Be careful, if it were that simple, it would actually be very easy.
It is possible that you have a 10-digit number that belongs to someone, but that someone may not be the sender of these threats!!!!!!
Let me explain, there are services like http://sms.nandarion.info/ or http://www.envoyersms.org/ that allow you to send texts by choosing the sender!! It's identity theft, but I believe it's legal.
This long text just to tell you that if you really want to know who sent you this message, you need to file a complaint.
You can always try services like Ctqui that give you the name of the phone owner, but it doesn't guarantee that it's really the sender of your messages.
So if things get really serious, you have no other choice but to go to the police station.
There you go, good luck! (I had fun formatting a little ^^ )

You taught me some stuff honestly, especially with the possibility of sending SMS from a PC. I knew it was possible, but how??? I had no idea.
Now I understand for my personal case.
But I'm back to you Cali, it's true that if the person threatening you really doesn't stop, you will have to file a complaint with the "gendarmerie" or police station. But I prefer to warn you now,
I've known cases where people filed complaints about the same issues as you and they told me that the services in question never really took action. So, there you go, I don't want to be negative, but I'm just warning you.
So I wish you good luck and good courage.

Yes, it is possible to send texts by choosing the sender and the recipient. For my part, I have already tried it on http://sms.nandarion.info/sendsms. There’s a kind of tutorial there. Much to my surprise, I thought it was a scam but no, it is indeed possible to make it seem like one person is sending a text to someone else.
What you need to know is that texts were originally intended to exchange different information between various SMS gateways. They are absolutely not secure. It’s a bit like when we send an email. We can make it look like person X is sending an email to person Y.
So yes, we can send texts from a PC, but connected to the internet of course ^^.
Cali, I just thought of something, it might be admitting defeat, but you can also change your phone number.
Thank you for the work done.
