Hello, I just formatted a 1GB hard drive to exFAT format to use it as an extended external hard drive for my PS4. PROBLEM: I can't format it from the console, the formatting starts then I get an error message saying that my hard drive is not connected... Please help me, I can't take it anymore.

    Hello,

There are certain conditions to meet for using an external HDD on PS4:

Size: 2.5 inches (self-powered) or 3.5 inches (external power supply).
    Minimum storage capacity: 256 GB
    Maximum storage capacity: 8 TB
    Connectivity: USB 3.0
    Type: HDD, SSHD or SSD

Mentioning your HDD's model number would be a good start. Since it doesn't recognize the connection, is it really a USB 3.0?

I already have a 2 TB external hard drive on the console. I've never encountered any issues and it's a real joy to have thousands of gigabytes of games :p
