USB storage problem PS4 need help please

Hello,
Here is my issue. I have a PS4 that is performing a system storage check. Then it says it is impossible to start the PS4. After that, it says to connect a USB storage device. I did this with an external hard drive formatted as exFAT with the update, and it doesn’t recognize it. It says it’s impossible to access the USB storage device. How should I proceed? Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Thank you for your help.

    Here I solved the problem. I kept my finger on the on button and a menu appeared. I reset the console and everything is working again. Even my games are still there, just had to reload them in the library.

      I have the same problem; I don't understand how you solved it. Which button did you press?

      Personally, I lost everything in terms of data, no more games... at least those downloaded online.
