No sound coming from my new Samsung screen

Hello,

I own an MSI GS63 7RE laptop, and when I work on it (or play), the single screen (integrated here) prevents me from doing multiple things at once.

Since there is an HDMI port, I decided to buy a monitor to have 2 screens. I purchased the Samsung C24F390, a curved monitor with an HDMI port.

It is functional; I can switch between screens, but there is a problem. No sound is coming from the monitor even though it is connected via HDMI.

My first instinct was to test with another HDMI cable, with no results. Next, I went to “manage audio devices” to see if it was disabled. However, the device is perfectly functional...

I then updated both of my graphics cards, but nothing has changed; I still have no sound. When I go to select the playback device, it does indicate that the monitor is using (Intel(R) sound for displays), and despite its update, I have no sound.

I admit I’m out of ideas, and I was wondering if anyone recognized this problem. I hope you can help me; I’m sure it’s just a small issue...

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards,

Bane91

Good evening,

Have you only read the screen's manual? Did you go into the audio settings of the screen?

What is fidelity? It's just a lack of opportunities;-)

Good evening,

I must be having reading issues or skimming over it too much, I don't see where you're coming from... Could you clarify a bit more for me, please?

Has it not occurred to you that the screen's sound might have been factory-set to zero? And that adjusting the screen's sound manually, that's what I'm getting at, is mentioned in this PDF manual on page 13.

I have, of course, set the screen to a volume of 100. I didn't mention it in my request because it seemed obvious to me...

Just in case, do you have to mute the sound of the laptop screen for it to switch to the second screen? This would mean that you couldn't have sound on both screens at the same time; it would be either one or the other.

That's just a suggestion, of course ;-)
