Hello,
I saw advertisements about photo backup...
I am surprised by the capacity of this kind of USB stick, for example 8 GB ($29.99) or 64 GB ($49.99).
Is this something serious that would replace an external hard drive or just a good scam (like that portable TV antenna...) ?
Thank you for shedding some light on this.

It's starting off badly; I received my purchase of thephotostick 128GB at 50% off with free shipping, but unfortunately, the post office is charging me customs fees plus VAT amounting to 20 euros + 19.58 euros VAT in Belgium. I would call that a scam!

It's a pure and simple scam. It is possible to obtain this item for a price not exceeding €15 for the greedier sellers, most selling it between €7 and €10 (Amazon, eBay, and others).

I had the same experience. They charge your account for the price of the device without mentioning the shipping fees. It's the delivery person who, this morning, when handing me the item, asked me for €39.58 in customs fees. I share your opinion: it’s a scam!

""The scam" is not exactly a scam.
When you buy online, you need to know where the seller is located; if they are selling outside the EU, there may not be any shipping costs, but you will ALWAYS have to pay VAT AND customs fees.
This is not a scam; it's the law."

I am like you, I have been waiting since December 19, 2018, for the charge to be made to my account immediately, but to this day, January 17, 2019, still nothing and especially no response to my emails. To me, this is a scam. I hope many people will read this message and stop ordering PhoTostick. What can be done to stop this scam???????????? Thank you for responding.

It's a scam. I never received the item in question. We tracked it from its departure to Los Angeles and now it indicates it's delivered to you! The claims website is a joke.

This outrageous advertising must stop.

Hello
If you are talking about a 64GB USB stick, you can find them on French websites for around €25, which is about $30.
If you are talking about a 64GB micro SD card, it costs around €22, which is about $25.
So I don't know what you're referring to, but there is a price difference.
Best regards.

ordered on February 15. delivery by Swiss Post on March 7. I thought I had been scammed. immediate test. I think it's conclusive. over 15,000 photos (and scans) recovered. The advantage of a USB stick is that it only stores photos and scans, nothing else. So there's no need to sort through them.
the 15,000 photos took up 60% of the capacity of the PhotoStick.
for shipping and customs fees: 26 Swiss francs.
for the moment, I find it quite interesting.

For me, it's a scam. You can get a 64GB USB drive on Amazon or Cdiscount for just €25. The only thing this drive supposedly has is an internal software for photos, just like a drive can have antivirus software or other things. A lot of people are going to get scammed; the videos that accompany this "" invention are fake...

Hello,
the photostick USB stick is solely intended for photos; it does the same job as Picasa, which no longer exists, replaced by Google Photos.
It has its own software that allows it to find all the photos on the PC, organize them, and locate duplicates, and there's nothing like it on Amazon.
