Hello everyone,

I am facing a connection problem between a laptop (Windows 7) and a Siemens S7 1214 PLC via Ethernet.

Let me explain the situation a bit more,
I need to program my PLC which is blank, and for that, I have connected my laptop directly to the PLC. Windows detects an unknown network, and I went to the Network and Sharing Center, the diagram indicates that the connection is not reaching the network.

I then performed a ping test to verify, first using auto IP and then with the fixed IP recommended by Siemens (which is 192.168.0.99). In both cases, the result is the same:

"cannot reach the destination host".

I find myself at an impasse and since this is a PLC that controls safety devices, I cannot afford to spend 2 weeks looking for the solution alone.

That's why I am reaching out to your knowledge and kindness to help me a bit

Thank you all for your attention.

    Hi,
what fixed IP have you configured on your PC?
what is the default IP address of the PLC?
if it is DHCP by default, you also need a DHCP server on the PC in addition to the fixed IP.

My fixed IP address is 192.168.0.99 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 for the Realtek PCie Gbe family controller (Network cable not connected).
The IP address of the device is 192.168.0.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
And when I want to go online, it tells me that it is impossible to find an accessible subscriber on the selected network.

If the cable is not connected, you won't do much.
Are you sure the port of the device is active?
Do you have indicators on each side of the socket?

now I just want to establish the connection online (virtually) without an automate or an Ethernet cable.
but when I initiate the connection, they told me it's impossible to find an accessible subscriber.
and I tested it with the CPU 315 just to try. and I take the type of the PC/PG MPI interface.
      and the PC/PC PLCSIM interface
and the interface with the MPI network interface. but I got the same problem.

      What's your subscriber story?
Where is your virtual line actually?
After that, the rest, CPU315 and other MPI or PLCSIM, doesn't mean anything to me.
      Are they simulators?
