Hello diabolo! I have a Kéops Neo 500GB with 2 NTFS partitions! Currently, I have the following problem: on the TV, the menu appears fine but without anything inside, whereas on the PC, there is no problem; everything is there! Did you have the same issue at the beginning, or did you not even have the menu on the TV?
Thank you for your response!
Regarding the firmware update, I saw this option in the menu on my TV, but when I went back to my PC, I didn’t see anything! Can you explain how it works? Thanks in advance!

Hello!
In fact, although for some it worked by staying in NTFS (still don’t know why!!), you need to switch to FAT32: to format a hard drive of more than 30GB approximately in FAT32, go to this link: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm! (Free of charge of course!)
If you understand a little English, you won’t have any problem implementing what it says! Do exactly what it tells you! Once switched to FAT32, oh miracle, your files are visible on the TV!
If you have any difficulties, come back here!
Good luck!

The only solution I have to offer you is to have a partition in Win98 with the drivers that are provided, you format it in FAT 32 and then it runs smoothly.
It's clear that it's cumbersome, but I have nothing else to suggest, sorry...

Thank you for your response, but I didn't receive ANY drivers with my Keops...
Plus, I don't know how to create a partition in Win98 mode... NEO can't possibly have good products
simply??? I'm really annoyed... If they have any means of accessing forums,
they should certainly pay attention to what's being said online because the poor quality
of their hard drives is recurring...

Hello, I think your USB driver database in the registry is cluttered.
1) Disconnect your hard drive.
2) On XP, use Regedit and then go here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB
3) Backup this key via the File\Export menu just in case...
4) Then grant "Full Control" permission to "Everyone" on this key via the "Edit\Permissions" menu and look for all values like "Vid_04cf&Pid_1234". Delete each key that corresponds to your device and also unknown devices (Unknown).
Repeat the operation on the branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Enum\USB.
3) Reconnect your device and wait for Windows to detect it and install the driver properly.

Hello,

Normally, for firmware, it's enough to copy them to the root of the Neo's hard drive.
I also have a 300GB Keops reader, but I had issues with partitions in NTFS format; I had to
convert them to FAT32 and now everything works.

I bought an Iomega multimedia disk Iomega Multimedia Player HD 500 GB
I connected it to my Mac to fill it up but the disk won't accept it!
I deduced that it needed to be formatted to FAT32 but I might lose the firmware, right?
What should I do????
Thank you in advance

Hello, I have the same issue as patoune0110 with a new Keops Neo 160GB purchased a few days ago.
It works perfectly on the PC, but once connected to the TV... nothing!!!
I thought about formatting it to FAT32, but it's impossible using the WINDOWS XP formatting... it only offers NTFS.
I think diabolo must have used a program other than WINDOWS... and that seems to be the only solution to get this device working!!!
So, I'm open to any information... Have a good day everyone and thanks in advance to the clever ones!!!

Hello, I have a Keops 160GB like yours and I would like to know if it works again now

because the person who had it before formatted it to NTFS and there are no folders left on the hard drive

thank you judyalco

No choice, remove the NTFS format.... Then, it's all good

Format in Fat32 under WinXP
Temporarily rename the hard drive with a simple name (e.g.: azerty)
Then "Start Menu"
"Run" => cmd
In the "Dos" window => format X: /fs:fat32
X corresponds to the drive letter to format
Enter the name of the volume to be formatted

500GB, you won't be in a hurry!

Hello!
It's true that this method (which I have never tested but others have mentioned too!) is way simpler!
However, with the "fat32format" file, the formatting speed is astonishing: it approaches a terabyte in just a few seconds!
Just sharing, in case others want to give it a try!

Hello,

I just saw that there is a Ne Keops Mediaplayer that allows you to play content from the hard drive on a TV. Is that right?
No more need to burn DIVX, we can watch them directly by connecting the Neo to the TV?
Thanks for replying quickly...

Hello! Quickly ... we do what we can!!!
Yes, that's right, no need to burn anymore! But, a small downside, if the image is really decent, the sound, on the other hand, is not the same (at least for me!) as the original, a DVD for example! This in the context of an RCA connection!
It may be that with other types of connections, it works better! The question is therefore raised! Others will surely react to this!
Thank you!

I had the same problem, because in some videos, after checking: you need to make sure that the sound is properly encoded in mp3.
Otherwise, a little use of VirtualDub to re-encode the sound.

Hello Dartagnan, and thank you for your interesting response!
In my folder, I have .vob, .bup, and .ifo files, as well as VTS_01 0, VTS_01 1, VTS_01 2, etc., all in the VIDEO_TS subfolder, noting that AUDIO_TS is always empty!
When you say to check if the audio is properly encoded in mp3, where can you see that?
Also, if you could provide me with the procedure, that would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Here is a small software that allows you to view the information of a file such as audio encoding, video, etc..;

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.htm

I'm also not very happy with my Keops 160, under XP it's recognized 1 time out of 5 and since the drivers are included, I can only revert to a PC with Win98 for which I have the drivers.
If anyone knows where to find the XP drivers so I no longer have this problem, I'm open to suggestions :)

If the hard drive is inside normally, I was also scared when I opened the box and read the manual explaining how to put the hard drive inside.

Now if you haven't bought it yet, I advise you not to get NEO, it's complete junk, there are formatting issues, mine is recognized 1 out of 5 times by the PC and there's no way to get the drivers for Windows XP, their website reflects the quality of their product.

So it's better to pay a little extra and ensure that in case of problems, you'll have a solution....

I bought it myself lol, and the problem is that my PC doesn’t detect it. Can you help me please, because it's starting to annoy me? I connect it to the TV, and it works lol.

That said, I also had the same issue as you with the first Keops! Vista didn't recognize it: nothing in the explorer! I went back to the store and they did a standard exchange, and with the other one there was no problem! All of this is to say that it is really a hardware issue! Use the warranty if possible! Good luck!

Sorry, I misread, I thought it was a DIVX
There, the file names you're telling me are from a DVD, I don't know, I've never tried.

Hello,
I have the same experience, it worked perfectly (Vista PC and TV) for 2 weeks and now, for a few days, the Keops is no longer recognized in the explorer. It even crashes my PC sometimes... Once out of 10 it detects it, but I can't "explore" the entire HDD as I would like... It crashes the Keops if I try to navigate too much through the different folders and files of the Keops...

I'm a bit worried about the apparent quality of Neo Keops products... Just reading the forums shows that this kind of non-detection problem (or various other issues) is common!!!
So, what to do?? Could someone tell me if a more recent firmware (my Keops is one month old, bought from Cdiscount) installed during the rare detections of the HDD could avoid this problem??

Thanks to everyone who could help me out of this mess...
