Change the resolution of the active signal

Hello,

I have a problem with my dual screen setup.
For your information, it's a laptop and a second monitor that I would like to use as a dual screen.
I can display it, I can duplicate the screens, but I can't extend the display.
I've tried a lot of things, but nothing works.
I just noticed one thing: the active resolution of my main screen is stuck at 1920 x 1080, and as soon as I switch to "Extend display", it goes back to 1920 x 1080 while I would like it to stay at 1360 x 768 (that's the maximum supported by the second monitor).
Without that, I get an out of range 67.5khz/60hz message that appears.
I wanted to at least try to manually switch to 1360 x 768 once the extended display is activated, but it's impossible because the open windows "display" (that's a generous term ^^) all on the second screen, which is out of range 67.5khz/60hz.

Graphics card for the main screen: HD Graphics 620 (that's what I would like to reconfigure, but I can't find anything in the Intel graphics panel)
Graphics card for the secondary screen: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

I had the same problem with Windows 10 and I fixed it by going to:
- Display > Advanced display settings
=> here, you should see that the "Desktop resolution" and "Active signal resolution" are different

- Then click on "Properties of the video card for display 2"

- Tab "Screen"

- set 60 hertz instead of 59

For me, it solved my problem. Maybe it will solve yours too?

I have a little problem, there is an error message that says that I am not an administrator and that I therefore cannot change the Hz.
