How to uninstall McAfee Livesafe?

Hello,
Having just acquired a new HP laptop running Windows 10, I would like to uninstall the trial version of McAfee antivirus that came with HP in order to replace it with another one such as the free version of Avast. This operation seems quite daunting, so my question is as follows: how should I proceed and what precautions should I take to avoid becoming vulnerable during this process? Thank you in advance.

Isn't it frustrating to see an antivirus suite embedded like a virus or spyware?

Even they know it, that's why they have a tool to uninstall their products definitively and cleanly: MCPR

Hello, and thank you for your quick response. I'm posting mine from my old computer - a Toshiba - that can't take it anymore but remains loyal, while the new one is already starting to act up. I had a lot of trouble sending my question last night because I faced numerous diversion tactics from an unidentified entity. That said, I will check your links right now and see which one is the best for my case. Once again, thank you for your help.

Hello, thank you for your message last night giving me your opinion on Windows Defender. It doesn't surprise me. While checking the Windows Security Center, I found that Windows Defender is actually a shell, with Microsoft outsourcing most of the security functions to McAfee. So, knowing this, can we be sure that by uninstalling McAfee there won't be any elements left in Windows Defender? I'm sorry, believe me, but all these things just delay my taking action.

Good evening everyone. Last night, around 1:15 AM, McAfee Livesafe was successfully removed from my computer, thanks to the MCPR tool. My warmest thanks to my two coaches, cs_PaTaTe and Malekal_morte, who gave me great advice and guidance, without whom I would have been stuck. McAfee was not making it easy... and as the demo period was expiring, I would have been forced to subscribe. McAfee was offering me a subscription of about €27 for the first year... This is the amount I propose to donate to CCM for the service rendered to me. If possible via e-CB. I don't have a PayPal account.
@Malekal_morte. I have read your tutorials. They are very enriching. I will have to revisit them.
So many tools that deserve to be installed. But unless one is paranoid, it seems to me that common sense would suggest limiting ourselves to those that would be the most useful. In any case, well done!
To conclude, having picked up my new computer, I am facing the same turbulence as the first time. Best regards and see you soon for new adventures.

Good evening. This thread is normally closed. But a question from you has been pending since the 19th, as it seemed off-topic to me: the disruptions in sending messages on the HP computer. Since the McAfee antivirus has been removed and the phenomenon is still ongoing, here is my response: first observation: these disturbances only occur when I am the sender (e.g., of messages), not as a mere visitor. They consist of various malfunctions while typing, such as the cursor jumping to different spots on the page, sometimes erasing the last word typed, jumping to the top or bottom of the page when pressing the spacebar, unexpectedly returning to the Firefox/Orange homepage or a Windows page. Lastly, I am often interrupted by info flashes from Windows or HP applications.
Second remark: Windows and HP seem to be the source of these latter nuisances. Best regards.

Hello! Thank you for your response. As mentioned in my previous message, the McAfee issue is resolved. Given the different nature of the phenomenon mentioned on the 19th and 24th of this month, it seems more appropriate to create a new thread to avoid going off-topic and to move the last two messages there. We could title it: "Disruptions in sending messages with new HP computer". What does moderation think? To respond to your comment, I don’t believe HP is the only culprit in this matter. A popup for a well-known car brand was definitely thrown in my face by Windows while I was writing the text above. It is true that I have many unnecessary pre-installed Windows apps that I will need to clean up seriously. The trouble is that they are not all clearly identifiable, like the games, for instance. Lastly, regarding the functional disturbances, I don’t believe they come from Windows or HP. A sneaky malware? Avast, my new antivirus, informs me that my Orange Livebox is vulnerable and unreliable and that a security reconfiguration is necessary... But how do I do that? I will call Orange... Best regards.
