How to read .tsv videos

Question

Hello,

Hi brothers, I filmed with my Novatek Apeman A80 action camera, and when I exported the video to my PC, I found that their extension is a .TSV file and I can't preview or convert them.
I tried more than 10 video players and converters, and still no results.
Please help me, brothers.

Try removing the v at the end of the extension to get a .ts file, but it’s just a suggestion...

I've seen in other discussions that VLC might be able to play TSV files, so give it a try if you haven't already ;)

I don't know this action camera... and I haven't found much information on the internet about .TSV files except that the codec used is H264 as stated on the official site (?) :

I'm afraid I can't help you any further :(
However, since there are quite a few videos filmed with this camera on YouTube, I think it can't be that complicated....

TSV files can refer to two types of files: https://fileinfo.com/extension/tsv
- office files
- video files (especially from satellite receivers...)

Although I don’t believe it too much, have you tried with MPC-HC / Media Player Classic - Home Cinema?
There is a portable version on the official site: https://mpc-hc.org/
I suggest this media player because with real UHD/4K files (the aperman a80 doesn’t do it, see here) it can play videos that VLC fails to...

I’ve also seen that TSV files could come from recordings of satellite decoders, but that video files seem to be encrypted and that’s why we can’t read them on a PC :(

As for the conversion or processing of video taken by a camera, there are two ways to do it, based on editing software:
- transfer via USB, by inserting the SD card if the computer has one or other
- we import it directly into editing software
Have you tried this second method of transferring videos taken by your camcorder to your PC?

I suggest, for example, VSCD Video Editor, ShotCut, OpenShot, GoPro Studio, or the free version of VideoPad Video Editor or another one.

But it’s up to you whether you want to install them to test or not...

I think I'll stop my help here because everything I’m telling you, you probably already know... and since I don’t have a TSV file to test, I can’t really tell you what is possible or not to do...
